Love Home Swap free trial offer

What is the Love Home Swap offer?

You can try out Love Home Swap with an exclusive free 3-month trial when you sign up by the 13th February using this link.

If you decide to remain a member after the three months are up, you can buy an annual platinum membership for just £99 (usually £144).

Even better .… the £99 Platinum package comes with 4 free airport lounge passes via Lounge Pass, which covers most major UK airports.

Love Home Swap also offer support in the case of a Covid-related cancellation, so if lockdown measures mean that you can’t travel, you won’t lose out.

You can sign-up for your free trial of Love Home Swap here.

How does Love Home Swap work?

Option 1: Classic Swap

With a Classic Swap, members directly swap homes, either at the same time or on different dates. Other than their Love Home Swap membership fee, there are no additional costs.

Option 2: Points Swap

This is a great option for anyone who has a second home which is vacant much of their time, or who spends a lot of time away from their own home. With a Points Swap, you don’t need to match your dates with another member. Instead, you host someone in your home while it’s vacant, and earn points to spend in any other Points Swap member’s home whenever and wherever you like. There is a small fee if you take this route.

On average, Love Home Swap claims that members save around £1,065 for a one-week trip (based on an average of £175 per night for a hotel room or holiday rental, minus membership and any fees).

Member testimonials

Love Home Swap have sent us over some stories and testimonials to illustrate how their members use the home-swapping platform.

Felice and Diamaid on a home swap in Australia

Felice and Diarmaid are members of the site, exchanging both their home in County Wexford, Ireland, plus their Spanish villa in Andalusia. Felice says:

“My daughter moved out to Australia and we thought it would be a wonderful way to visit her on a regular basis. We’ve recommended it to friends over the years and it’s always worked out really well for us. We’ve done some wonderful swaps. We really highly recommend it.”

The money-saving aspect is a key component of what makes home swapping such an appealing prospect. Estimating she’s saved around 30,000 Euros by swapping her home over the years, Felice says:

Staying at somebody’s home is just like being in your own home. We love to cook and that’s just not possible when staying in a hotel room or a cramped rental. When you’re going longer term, Love Home Swap is really the answer for us.”

Patti and Len on a home swap in France

Patti and Len are avid home swappers and have regularly traded their apartment in Old Quebec to travel the world – saving thousands of dollars in the process. In Patti’s words:

“We started home swapping about ten years ago and we haven’t look back. We love that we are in somebody’s home and that it has all the conveniences of our own home. You have the option of being able to sleep in, and not have housekeeping come to your door. Also, you tend to stay longer than you would if you were in a hotel. You can do things completely on your own schedule. We love that.”

Patti’s advice for anyone who is thinking of joining Love Home Swap? “Don’t wait to do it. I often hear people say that they are thinking of doing it – but don’t wait! We love to travel, and it’s been a really great solution for us.”

The 3-month trial offer for Love Home swap ends on 13th February 2022 and you can sign up using this link.

Can anyone who is not sponsored/compensated by Love Home Swap comment about their experience? I would imagine it would be difficult to find people who want to swap homes on the exact same dates as you do . . . ?

    • Michael C says:

I used other similar sites years ago: I was extremely flexible (worked online, had zero commitments), and so were many other people on the site, meaning you could request/offer “a few weeks this autumn/any months in the winter” etc. etc., without limiting it to fixed dates.

    • Dawn says:

Yes! I’ve been home exchanging for about 8 years and love it. I use their sister company HomeExchange.com
It doesn’t need to be simultaneous. I’m swapping with Clearwater, Florida and he’s coming to my home this summer. I’m going to his in the winter.
Or you can get Guest Points if they want yours but you don’t want to go to theirs.
This year I spent 5 weeks GP exchange in Antigua. Used my 2-4-1 so cost of flight and accommodation was around £1000.
Then did 7 week Gp exchange in Gran Canaria in Nov/Dec. Total cost BA flights and car hire £785 for the two of us. It’s the only way we, as retired folk and working for a non profit can afford to travel like this and it’s all thanks to finding HFP for the flights.
I’m happy to answer any home ex questions.

  • Michael C says:

PS really think for marketing purposes they should change to Love Homeswap.
I’m always left pondering what sort of Love Home they want to Swap!

  • SammyJ says:

I’d be up for this but realistically I just can’t see many people with a beachside villa in Miami wanting to swop for a fortnight in Doncaster.

That annoying feeling too when you can’t find something at home, would always come with the added doubt that someone living in your house might have taken/broken/lost it.

    • Dawn says:

You’d be amazed actually. I’ve stayed in the most beautiful homes in Australia, USA, Sri Lanka and the Antigua home was incredible. I have an ugly flat in Scotland and it’s full all the time. It’s all about location. Uk is very popular and many ex pats are looking to come on holiday and stay near relatives for example or research their family history.
You leave a home as you found it, do the laundry and cleaning or pay for a cleaner.
The site has insurance in the event of anything happening and your exchange is covered. However, one exchanger broke something once and just replaced it. I broke a glass in a kitchen and I replaced that. In about 50 exchanges that’s all I’ve had happen.
There’s a review system so you can write about your experience which I always do both as a host and a guest.
This is not Airbnb where half of the people don’t care, it’s a community and people leave the home as good as or better than they find it.
I also had reservations but tried it out and don’t travel any other way now.

  • CarpalTravel says:

I cannot help but wonder what the home insurance implications would be, should something bad happen to my home whilst people who are basically complete strangers (who might completely disappear after the fact) and may not be completely truthful / open about what happened.

Mine is a listed property with a lot of conditions attached to the policy so there is zero chance of me trying this, sadly.

    • Dawn says:

It doesn’t suit everyone. HomeExchange have insurance both parties are covered by. They also have a Support team if needed. I understand your concerns with a listed building.
