Virgin Atlantic has a flexible booking policy in place for flights that take place before the 31st December 2022.

You will be able to rebook your ticket, including to an alternative destination or with a name change, for free, albeit you will have to pay for the difference in fare. You can change your ticket as often as you’d like.

What seat will you get?

Depending on your destination, you will either enjoy the new Upper Class Suite on Virgin’s A350s (review here) or the older Upper Class seat on its A330s and 787s. Both are decent and have their strengths.

The Upper Class Suite on the A350 is generally more private, with a semi-door and a more enclosed seat shell. It is also angled towards the window, letting you enjoy the view from your seat.

The older-style Upper Class seat is slightly more open and therefore potentially better for families. Whilst you need to get out of your seat and flip it over into bed mode, it does allow for buddy dining. Unlike the new suite the seats face towards the aisle so you do have to crane your neck to see out.

Of course, you will be able to enjoy the fantastic Clubhouse lounge at Heathrow (review here) regardless of the aircraft type. The Virgin Clubhouse is far better than the BA business class lounges and in my view is one of the best lounges at Heathrow.

You will also enjoy a ‘proper’ meal service as Virgin Atlantic’s catering has returned to normal, with courses served separately.
