Virgin Atlantic is offering a further £150 off with the promo code ‘FLYVA’.

You need to book by Monday 17th January for travel between now and the end of March or between September and November.

The code stacks with the sale fares and will reduce the cost of flights by:

  • £150 in Upper Class
  • £70 in Premium
  • £30 in Economy (excluding Economy Light)

…. for flights to Boston, New York and Orlando. The code also works for Economy and Premium flights to Miami. You can see the terms and conditions of the offer here.

Virgin Atlantic has a flexible booking policy in place for flights that take place before the 31st December 2022.

You will be able to rebook your ticket, including to an alternative destination or with a name change, for free, albeit you will have to pay for the difference in fare. You can change your ticket as often as you’d like.

Virgin Atlantic Upper Class A350
Virgin Atlantic’s new Upper Class Suite

What seat will you get?

Depending on your destination, you will either enjoy the new Upper Class Suite on Virgin’s A350s (review here) or the older Upper Class seat on its A330s and 787s. Both are decent and have their strengths.

The Upper Class Suite on the A350 is generally more private, with a semi-door and a more enclosed seat shell. It is also angled towards the window, letting you enjoy the view from your seat.

The older-style Upper Class seat is slightly more open and therefore potentially better for families. Whilst you need to get out of your seat and flip it over into bed mode, it does allow for buddy dining. Unlike the new suite the seats face towards the aisle so you do have to crane your neck to see out.

Of course, you will be able to enjoy the fantastic Clubhouse lounge at Heathrow (review here) regardless of the aircraft type. The Virgin Clubhouse is far better than the BA business class lounges and in my view is one of the best lounges at Heathrow.

You will also enjoy a ‘proper’ meal service as Virgin Atlantic’s catering has returned to normal, with courses served separately.

We also recently reviewed Virgin Premium, which is still an excellent product.

To maximise your miles when paying, your best bet is one of the two Virgin Atlantic Reward credit cards.  These earn double miles (3 per £1 on the paid card or 1.5 per £1 on the free card) when you book at virginatlantic.com or via Virgin Holidays

The flights I’m looking at in premium are
£100 more direct with virgin over all the other sales companies on Skyscanner .

Appreciate it’s better in current climate to book through virgin direct – just annoying that he £70 isn’t really a saving
