As you can see from the picture below, the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester occupies a unique position. Many of the rooms directly overlook the pitch.

This allows Hilton to offer excellent ‘buy it now’ points redemptions for events at the ground.

It has just launched some impressive VIP packages for the England vs India one day international on Sunday 17th July.

EDIT: Readers bought all six packages available in under an hour of this article being published

For just 90,000 Hilton Honors points (which I’d value at around £300), TWO people will get to watch the England vs India game from the VIP suite at the Hilton Garden Inn.

As Hilton describes it “the large and comfortable room has been designed with VIP hospitality in mind, boasting relaxed seating, and a grand terrace / balcony with outdoor furniture for the finest views.”

There are six packages available at the time of writing (11am on Monday).

The full package includes:

  • VIP access for two people to watch the match from the Hilton Garden Inn Manchester Emirates Old Trafford Hotel Suite on Sunday 17th July
  • Q&A and ‘meet & greet’ with a cricket legend
  • Official commentary radio
  • Official program
  • Complimentary food & beverage throughout the day including breakfast roll & continental platter, canapes, two course gourmet buffet, afternoon tea, beer, wine, selected spirits and soft drink

This will cost you 90,000 points as a ‘buy it now’ redemption.

You can book via the Hilton ‘experiences’ website here – filter by UK redemptions (EDIT: but it’s now sold out.) Our full review of Hilton Honors is here.

We had the Hilton package and were at the ground for the cancelled match in September. Is this the replacement? We understood that we wound be contacted about tickets by Hilton but haven’t been. Did any other readers also have the tickets for the last event?

    • Fazzy Bear says:

This is for a ODI not a test match so no is the answer.

  • Doommonger says:

You need to call Hilton in Watford. Incidentally I’m going with 6 business associates but not via Hilton, and intend to get thoroughly wasted.

For a non-Indian/Pakistani/British person, can any if you please explain what’s the heck is cricket, what is the sportive aspect about it and what is so interesting about it to watch for hours?

  • Doommonger says:

Hi Max, Like most corporate events, the sport is merely incidental, quaffing and stuffing ones face with as much free food as you can handle is the order of the day.

    I hope this helps.

    Doomster.
