Hotel promotions and ‘buy points’ offers

Hilton Honors – double base points on all stays from 2nd May to 5th September – register here

Accor, Hyatt, Marriott and Radisson are not currently running a global promotion.

You can call the hotel to ask. In my experience, status members are often not charged until a couple of days before as a ‘favour’.

  Anyone had success trying to do this? I’m £18 short after a couple of stays, and not planning on overnighting anywhere this week.
  Alternatively, we have a HI on the list nearby, would a dinner there count toward the amount? I know at a recent HIX stay the entry on amex statement was the same as for the night.

    Well you can only try. HIXs don’t have separate restaurants though, if the HI restaurant is separate then there is a chance it has its own merchant account
