Get £100 cashback from American Express on a luxury IHG hotel stay

IHG has launched a new cashback deal in conjunction with American Express. This is for IHG’s luxury brands – a similar cashback deal for the mid-market brands ends this week.

It’s a very simple deal.

The new offer will give you £100 cashback when you spend £350 by 16th September.

InterContinental Vienna cashback

The offer is limited to the first 10,000 people to register. You need to see if it is on the ‘Offers’ tab on the statement page of the Amex website or app for each American Express card you hold, including supplementary cards.

Cumulative spending DOES count.

The following hotels are taking part:

InterContinental Paris Le Grand

Whilst InterContinental Dusseldorf is on the list, this hotel left IHG six months ago …..

This offer wasn’t as widespread as I’d expected it to be across my cards. It was on my Platinum card but not on my BA Amex, and neither was it on my wife’s BA Amex. Obviously you won’t find it on the Marriott Bonvoy American Express!

This offer will double up with IHG’s current bonus points promotion which we covered here. You can register here.

Remember that IHG is currently offering instant Platinum Elite status in IHG One Rewards to anyone who wants it. You can register for that here.

The IHG website for bookings is here.

IHG One Rewards update – April 2024:

Get bonus points: IHG One Rewards is offering 2,000 bonus points for every two cash nights you stay (not necessarily consecutive) between 1st April and 31st May 2024. You can read our full article here and you can register here.

The Regent Berlin is good. We booked their Presidential Suite on points once. Not sure if this option still exists. I thought that we’d turn up and they’d say it was a mistake, but they honoured it and we had a great stay. Breakfast was fine too.

Thanks for early heads up, Rob.

Not on my Platinum but is on my BA card so will put to good use at the O2 a week prior to the use by date.

Have already set reminder to settle with the correct card 😉

I have an upcoming 900EUR check out payment at Kimpton de Witt. I presume it is as simple as splitting over my 2 Amex’s with this deal, and sucking up the bad conversion rate? Would usually pay with monzo etc but this makes it worthwhile (I think!)

  • Stian says:

I happened to see this offer yesterday, on Platinum only, nothing on my BA Amex. I tried to add it, only to get an error message. Same on second try, but when I checked in today, it had been saved to my card.

Will this work on an Advanced purchase rates for stats after the 16th September?

Hmmmmm… I have a 2 night stay at the George in Edinburgh from 16th – 18th. What are my chances of having them just charge me when I check in? 🤔 Does no harm to ask, I suppose!

  • cercwc76 says:

Only available in Platinum but not on BAPP

  • blue_wolf says:

On my Platinum, not my Gold or BAPP, and also on the supplementary ARCC I have from my partner’s account.

At just over £350 per night for the Kimpton de Witt in Amsterdam, that’s a nice saving for two nights 🙂
