  Just hoping that 6 July will not be as hot as Regents Park was yesterday!
  Many thanks, Rob, for telling us about the Accor deal there – we could not face walking around the show much, so we got ourselves admitted to the Accor stand early and got three glasses of champagne each, which pretty much used up the value of the points spent on the tickets, even before the meal.

    Result. Rhys and I were there for lunch yesterday, and I was there on Thursday night with my wife for dinner. Not freebies, we used points.

    What you won’t have realised is that the people manning the Accor stand are all very senior staff who got pressganged into it!

      Well, full marks to the cheerful young woman with the champagne bottles! I guess that someone more junior would have wanted to check if we were entitled to “another” glass!

      Was the menu on Thursday evening distinct from Friday lunch?

        It was probably Nadja who is VP of loyalty partnerships for all of Northern Europe.

    Same here.
    It seemed pointless adding myself to a wait list for a date I couldn’t make (will be down in Loire Valley).
    Will keep an eye out for any new wait list (and try my luck with a VPN)

    Seriously, I have no idea how Eventbrite deals with the waiting list – not sure if they will email everyone and give tickets to the first x to reply, or if it will be done in batches.

      Yep. Had only once earned Diamond (Spire) status through matching no less (plus some extra nights) and had it now for nearly seven years.

      I think now that the public secret is not a secret anymore, they’ll put a stop on it soon.

      I have Marriott Titanium. Does that mean I could status match to Diamond Elite and then renew from year to year by keeping the Ambassador going (which I reckon is good value if only for the free weekend night)?

  Any chance you could convince Barclays to do something about their appalling app and desktop account information with the business card , in addition their credit assessment dept overseas needs some serious guidance .

  Tried numerous time to email Best Western regarding Status Match and every single email has been returned as rejected by BW as suspected spam, all emails to BW Rewards are being rejected.
  Anyone had a similar experience?
