Marriott has added some new events at the O2 in London to its Marriott Moments ‘experiences’ platform.

The Moments website is here.

The key one for most people is Cirque du Soleil’s Corteo.

Marriott Bonvoy o2 suite

Cirque du Soleil works differently to other Marriott Bonvoy redemptions at the O2.

You are NOT getting seats in Marriott Bonvoy suite. You get general Level 1 seats, and there is no food or drink included.

On the upside, the tickets are substantially cheaper than usual. You will pay 20,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per pair.

Tickets are currently available for:

  • Friday 15th July at 6.30pm
  • Saturday 16th July at 6.30pm
  • Sunday 17th July at 11.30am

Marriott has also added suite packages for:

  • Alanis Morissette on 28th and 29th June (60,000 Bonvoy points for two)
  • Kings of Leon on 1st and 2nd July (50,000 Bonvoy points for two)
  • HAIM on 21st July (30,000 Bonvoy points for two)

The Marriott Bonvoy Suite at the O2 is impressive. Assuming the usual pre-covid set-up returns, there is a free hot buffet served before the concert and a free bar all night. I have been multiple times, and here is a review by Anika of how the Marriott Bonvoy suite works.

Note that the suite has recently moved. It is a little nearer to the stage, but you now have a side view rather than a direct view. If you want to be close to the action – hard at the O2 – it isn’t the place for you. It’s better for casual fans who appreciate the ability to wander in and out of the suite at will during the evening.

If you click here you bring up all of the London events on the Marriott Moments site.

I can’t rate these shows highly enough, Phenomenal choreography, It’s such a shame that lives have been lost over the years. We have booked to see Corteo on 17th July at 02. We have seen all their shows. Many in Las Vegas, Luzia at the royal Albert hall.& Joyà in Riviera Maya in Mexico….

    • WaynedP says:

Spectacularly talented and amazing to watch.

Enjoyed Cirque du Soleil at sea on MSC Meraviglia in 2018 at cabaret style tables with closest thing to a Michelin standard meal outside of an actual Michelin starred venue. Highly recommended.

My wife still talks about it as one of her all time favourite nights out.

  • Gordon says:

‘‘Twas the night before Christmas” in Madison Square Garden NY was a lot shorter than the mainstream shows (80 mins with no intermission) But still worth a watch….

  • John T says:

I’ve seen CDS shows in big arenas like this and wouldn’t recommend it. Much of the magic of the experience is lost when you are not in an intimate circus tent. The Royal Albert Hall performances aren’t too bad because it’s such a beautiful venue but the O2 will not be the same.

  • Tariq says:

I’m hoping for the Alanis Morissette shows to be reduced. Looks like only one pair of seats have been redeemed so far at 60k, and closing date for redemption tomorrow. Any ideas what they do if the tickets don’t ‘sell’? Reduce price or something else?

    • Rob says:

Pre covid they would reduce nearer the time – to be honest I haven’t seen any examples of this since they restarted the redemptions.

    • N says:

I’ve asked recently and it seems like the reductions of old are no more

  • Russell says:

Went to see Queen in the Marriott suite recently, and there was no buffet, only the very poor burger/hot dog/pizza menu to order. Drinks were cheaper beers and wine only. Gin+tonic, cocktails and champagne were all chargeable. Very disappointing based on pre-covid reviews.

    • Track says:

Yeah, at some point long before Covid, I was astonished when they introduced chargeable items, obviously inflated. The burger will be XX pounds.

Even then the buffet was just OK.

    • Chrisasaurus says:

      Interesting comment.

The description and the confirmation both include reference to the inclusive food.

When I was last there there was no food (buffet) ordered and no staff for the suite, and the fridge was locked so no drinks either. We were told to buy our own food and drink and take it up with Marriott, by the o2 staff who were excellent but limited in what they could do.

Burgers were inedible but, that could have been a one off – have heard no real feedback on them either way.

For sure, nobody is there for the food but it’s all part of an overall experience in my opinion and loss of it devalues the proposition somewhat.
