Hyatt has confirmed that its new 7Pines Resort Sardinia is now officially open.

It sits inside the Destination by Hyatt brand. It was not a surprise to see this resort join Hyatt after the original 7Pines Resort in Ibiza signed last year.

To quote:

7Pines Sardinia World of Hyatt points

“The 7Pines Resort Sardinia is situated directly on the sea, nestled in the meandering coastline of Baja Sardinia, surrounded by 15 hectares of unspoiled coastline and nature reserve, located just a stone’s throw from Costa Smeralda. The 76-room property is built within centuries-old rock formations with paths that weave through pristine gardens out to the resort’s five secluded and unspoiled beaches, near wild coves and brilliant blue coastline. Thanks to the resort’s on-site yachting services, guests can explore the emerald lagoons and heavenly beaches of the La Maddalena archipelago, which is a 20-minute boat ride away.

This resort is exceptional value for World of Hyatt points – even if you buy them.

Rates start at €1,495 per night in mid August and €1,700 in early September, although it drops sharply as you head into October.

Redemption rooms are capped at 35,000 World of Hyatt points per night. Under the ‘buy points’ 30% bonus offer which ended on Monday – although another one will be along soon, I’m sure – you could have bought points for 1.3p each. This would translate to £455 per night if you bought points, compared to €1,700 for cash. Suites and suite upgrades are also available for points.

Even without a bonus ‘buy points’ offer, buying points still works here. You can check pricing and buy here. Remember that Hyatt guarantees that you can book a standard room for points as long as a standard room is available for cash.

The 7Pines Resort Sardinia website is here. The nearest airport, 35km away, is Olbia.

PS. The maths of buying points vs spending cash is very similar at 7Pines Ibiza in peak season.

I had to wait for the Ebay/Avios offer to come round in the box at the top of the home page.
Hopefully this will stack with the Amex offer if you spend at least £70.

  • Richie says:

BTW There’s some avios availability for Olbia in mid-late September.

  • DevonDiamond says:

Sounds like the PayPal Amex offer

  • Christian says:

I also have a +1000 points just for not having purchased for a while.

    • Christian says:

This is when I log in to the nectar account in the app.

    • Rob says:

I had a £5 cash discount (no minimum spend) offered to me last week!

As much as I love HH, for my hotels in the US – at least this year – HH has been consistently more points-expensive compared to IHG. Not talking about fancy hotels, just regular Hamptons VS HIE and alike.
IHG is also selling points currently with bonus.

    • Blair Waldorf Salad says:

Yes I agree. There’s nowhere I’d want to stay in a major destination for less than 70K a night. Even factoring in 5 for 4 points nights, that’d be the equivalent of 56K per night on a 5 night IHG stay. I can always get good IHG for lower than that.

Are these Hilton Buy Bonuses marketed in anyway? I get no notification, there’s nothing under offers in the app, when I go to the buy points website it says I’m limited to 80,000 but then when I finally get through to the shopping cart l’m finally told I’ve an 80% bonus and I can buy up to 160,000. Are they intentionally trying to downplay these offers?

    • brian says:

Also, looking at the Dubai Waldorf Astoria within the app I’m seeing plus 10% service charge per stay, plus tax. How does that work on a points stay?

      • Rob says:

        10% of nothing is nothing.

        • blenz101 says:

Just booked the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day for 80k per night as a redemption. As Rob says, no service charge.

Cash prices per night are c.$750, points can be had in this deal for $400ish.

    • Rob says:

If you’re opted in to Hilton marketing you should get emails.

  • dmm27 says:

I’ve only got 80k as a purchase option, with 80% bonus. However am I right that you can transfer points between members so there is no reason why my wife couldnt also buy some and then pool points?

    • Rob says:

Correct (as long as she already has a Hilton account, new acconts can’t buy points for a few weeks).
