Get Sinead’s £2,000 hotel suite at The Athenee in Bangkok for just 87,000 Marriott points!

Last month, Sinead reviewed The Athenee hotel in Bangkok. Unexpectedly, she was upgraded to a gigantic 190 square metre room – the Vimarn Suite. It featured a sitting room, dining room with space for at least 10, a kitchen, two bedrooms and a grand total of three bathrooms.

A lot of you complained that it wasn’t typical of a ‘real’ stay at the hotel, with such ‘ridiculous’ suites being out of reach for many. And you were right – the suite sells for just shy of £2,000 per night. However ….

Having read your comments, the hotel has decided to do something about it. It has launched a unique redemption offer due to HfP reader feedback.

Get a two bedroom, three bathroom £2,000 suite from just 87,000 Marriott Bonvoy points

For the rest of the year (well, almost, some blackout dates apply), The Athenee has decided it will give you a guaranteed ‘at the time of booking’ upgrade to one of its Theme suites for free to everyone booking a Royal Club Suite redemption.

There are four Theme suites at The Athenee hotel:

  • The Vimarn Siam suite which Sinead stayed in
  • The Ruen Thai two bedroom suite
  • The Royal Pimai two bedroom suite
  • The Ratanakosin 1 king, 2 double suite

Each suite comes with 24-hour butler service and access to the Royal Club lounge. The suites are all between 178 and 350 square meters and can sleep up to six people – four adults and two children under the age of 12.

It goes without saying that getting a guaranteed upgrade to a suite like the one Sinead reviewed for 87,000 Marriott Bonvoy points is unbelievable value.

For obvious reasons, the offer is only valid ‘whilst stocks last’. There are a finite number of suites available at the hotel which will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

All you have to do to claim the offer is book a Royal Club Suite redemption room using Marriott Bonvoy points via this page of marriott.com. A Royal Club Suite is usually available for redemption between 87,000 and 100,000 points per night.

Once the hotel has received your booking, it will manually upgrade it to one of the Theme suites available (you can’t choose which one). Your booking should be updated within 48 hours, or by Monday, if booked over a weekend.

Again, with just four Theme suites available, early booking is advised. If there is no availability, you will be able to cancel or change your redemption booking free of charge.

The offer is valid for the almost the entirety of 2022, up to 28th December 2022. The only blackout dates are Saturday nights in November and December.

The offer will also stack with the usual ‘Book 4 nights, get the 5th free’ redemption offer, increasing the value even further.

For any questions, you can reach out to the hotel directly via this email address to discuss the offer. If you are heading to Bangkok soon, especially if it is for a special occasion, this offer is seriously worth considering.

I was recently upgraded to an £800 a night suite on a 2; night stay at another hotel and chain in Asia. I had bought a £300 a night suite as it was a special occasion.
While it was delightful I didn’t travel that far to sit in a room all day. I never used the dining area, used the sofa 3 times and the butler was not troubled throughout my stay.
I’d rather splash the cask or points on premium air travel and while I want a comfortable clean bed I don’t need much more than that. The other facilities and F&B are more important than room size.

Seems the IHG 40k IC nights “deal” is running again.

Just booked myself 3 nights at IC Champs-Elysees for final days of Tour de France.

Would have gone for the Le Grand but the Sunday night (final day of race) is 100k points.

Is it worth staying Le Grand for 2 nights and then swapping to Champs for final night? Equally could do all 3 nights at Kimpton for 45kpn?

    • BJ says:

Yes, just posted. Many deals available. Not quite as many as last time but still rich pickings.

  • xcalx says:

Would love to have a look but when signing in all I get is
