You will receive DOUBLE British Airways Executive Club tier points too

One of the most attractive promotions currently running from any travel company is the British Airways Holidays ‘double tier points’ offer.

(If you are have previously made use of this offer, it now appears that the double tier points are finally starting to land in accounts!)

If you book a ‘flight and hotel’ or ‘flight and car’ package for 5+ nights via BA Holidays, for travel completed by 30th September 2023, you will receive double tier points on your flights.

The eagle-eyed among you may have just done a double take at that September 2023 date. When we wrote about the double tier points offer earlier this week, you had to travel by 31st October 2022 to benefit. However, the double tier points offer has now been extended by 11 months.

This could be hugely beneficial to you. For example, until the end of 2022, you only need 450 Executive Club tier points for Silver status which gets you British Airways lounge access and free seat selection. By pushing out the offer from 30th October 2022, you now have an extra two months of earning double tier points before the thresholds go back to normal on 1st January 2023.

You could even get Silver status in one trip. For example, booking Manchester to Corfu in Club Europe, you would get (40 + 80 + 80 + 40) x 2 = 480 tier points. You get a holiday and up to 25 months of BA lounge access and free seat selection, depending on how you time it.

There are two things to note about the double tier points offer:

  • you must book flights which carry a British Airways flight number – codeshare flights with, say, Qatar Airways are acceptable but only if your booking shows a BAXXXX flight number
  • whilst your booking must contain at least five nights of hotel or car rental, your overall stay can be longer

Full details of the ‘double tier points’ offer can be found on British Airways Holidays here.

Don’t forget the other benefits of booking with British Airways Holidays

As well as saving money versus buying your flights and hotel separately, there are some other attractive benefits of booking with British Airways Holidays which you may have forgotten about:

  • earn double Avios (3 per £1 spent) from Amex when you pay with a British Airways American Express Premium Plus card
  • earn 1 Avios per £1 spent at BA Holidays – this is on top of the Avios you earn on your flights plus the Avios you will earn if you pay with a BA American Express card
  • you can secure your trip with a small deposit now and pay the balance nearer the date of travel

The British Airways sale is available on bookings made before 20th September 2022 – but you need to book by 6th September to get the additional savings. It is valid for travel until 31st August 2023.

Find out more on the BA Holidays home page here.

The photo above is not Domes of Corfu, it’s Domes Miramare which is adult only…

    • Rob says:

Sorry – mislabelled in our library then.

EDIT: actually, in the library it is called ‘Domes Corfu’ because ‘Domes of Corfu’ wasn’t open at that time and I probably couldn’t spell Miramare.

  • GMT-london says:

Wow 3% (rushes to computer to book)

  • Comment says:

“ British Airways has launched its Black Friday deals, with both flight and holidays savings to be made.”

Isn’t Black Friday still a couple of months away?

    • Freddy5 says:

We already had one (Amazon) BF/ Prime Day day this year – July 12-13. Pretty much the same offers/ prices. Next official BF date is Nov 25.

Artificial price lows in a lot of cases – check out camelcamelcamel to see how prices change over time. There was actually a very good half price on a Xiomi mobile last Prime Day but most of the other offer prices were nothing special. Quite good for Melia Rewards, though, usually.

      • Brian78 says:

“We already had one (Amazon) BF/ Prime Day day this year – July 12-13”

July 12th-13th were a Tuesday and Wednesday.

Nothing to do with Black Friday (which is a load of American nonsense anyway)

  • FiveNightsMcGraw says:

    Thanks for the update.
For the double TPs is it still necessary to have a car or hotel booking for the entire duration of the trip, or can you now qualify if you just have 5 nights with a car/hotel out of, say, 14 nights ?

    • Safety Card says:

So 5 days car hire… and do you have to pick up the car?

      • Rob says:

I’ve heard of people getting a €50 fine from Avis to cover the loss of profit from not being able to sell you rubbish, but no idea if BA finds out or cares.

        • Safety Card says:

Perhaps going to the counter and saying you’re not going to need it is a way to avoid the fine. Or finding five nights in a very cheap hotel!

  • masaccio says:

I tried very hard to find something for next Easter but there is nothing at sane prices in the school holidays. WTP is at or above normal CW prices and in some cases economy is at CW levels. Looks like the crazy ticket prices will continue for some time.

  • SingleSnubbed says:

Would be nice if BA finally realised some people travel alone and would like to be able to use tools such as the Holiday Finder with a one-person setting !

    • Amy C says:

Yes singlesnubbed that drives me mental.

      • Lady London says:

        +1
Bad enough holiday pricing is hard to make work for a single person

And @Colin Mackinnon has rubbed it in by reminding us a couple that travel and share the cost of hotel room or car (so halved) also both get the whole tier points offer each, as well 🙂

    • lumma says:

Can’t you just search for a deal for two, then manually do the same dates for one? The flight element should then half

      • Bobby says:

Although that sounds how it should be, it’s never the case…usually at least 75% the cost of 2 adults 🤬

And don’t even get me started if you aren’t based around London

  • YFP says:

I’m one BA Holiday deal + 1 domestic return flight away from gold at this rate. Couldn’t find s way to squeeze a BA holiday in before the end of the month, but with 3 more months might be worth doing!

  • Erico1875 says:

5* Dreams Corfu all inclusive inc Euro Traveller flights for 2 coming in about 20% less than the cost of hotel room via the official site in May.
    Dates I searched 23May to 28 May (5 nights)
