You will receive DOUBLE British Airways Executive Club tier points too

One of the most attractive promotions currently running from any travel company is the British Airways Holidays ‘double tier points’ offer.

(If you are have previously made use of this offer, it now appears that the double tier points are finally starting to land in accounts!)

If you book a ‘flight and hotel’ or ‘flight and car’ package for 5+ nights via BA Holidays, for travel completed by 30th September 2023, you will receive double tier points on your flights.

The eagle-eyed among you may have just done a double take at that September 2023 date. When we wrote about the double tier points offer earlier this week, you had to travel by 31st October 2022 to benefit. However, the double tier points offer has now been extended by 11 months.

This could be hugely beneficial to you. For example, until the end of 2022, you only need 450 Executive Club tier points for Silver status which gets you British Airways lounge access and free seat selection. By pushing out the offer from 30th October 2022, you now have an extra two months of earning double tier points before the thresholds go back to normal on 1st January 2023.

You could even get Silver status in one trip. For example, booking Manchester to Corfu in Club Europe, you would get (40 + 80 + 80 + 40) x 2 = 480 tier points. You get a holiday and up to 25 months of BA lounge access and free seat selection, depending on how you time it.

There are two things to note about the double tier points offer:

  • you must book flights which carry a British Airways flight number – codeshare flights with, say, Qatar Airways are acceptable but only if your booking shows a BAXXXX flight number
  • whilst your booking must contain at least five nights of hotel or car rental, your overall stay can be longer

Full details of the ‘double tier points’ offer can be found on British Airways Holidays here.

Don’t forget the other benefits of booking with British Airways Holidays

As well as saving money versus buying your flights and hotel separately, there are some other attractive benefits of booking with British Airways Holidays which you may have forgotten about:

  • earn double Avios (3 per £1 spent) from Amex when you pay with a British Airways American Express Premium Plus card
  • earn 1 Avios per £1 spent at BA Holidays – this is on top of the Avios you earn on your flights plus the Avios you will earn if you pay with a BA American Express card
  • you can secure your trip with a small deposit now and pay the balance nearer the date of travel

The British Airways sale is available on bookings made before 20th September 2022 – but you need to book by 6th September to get the additional savings. It is valid for travel until 31st August 2023.

  • Rich says:

BA are now saying that the double TPs will be posted within 14 days of return travel – they have clearly automated the process or staffed up, or are kidding.

Last time it was 30 days, then ‘there are delays’ and didn’t deliver. I truly hope they have fixed this, from recent posts on this, it seems they have.

    • sayling says:

Originally, it was ‘allow 30 days’ – it was increased to 60 when the promotion was first extended.
Lots of posts on FlyerTalk of people recently getting bonus TPs within the new time frame of 14 days

  • Paul says:

Despite taking out 15,000 flights (5000 this summer and a further 10000 this winter, BA remain operationally incompetent. I flew to Milan on Wednesday night with a CE cabin of 40! Boarding farcical, no cabin crew, technical delay, ramblings from flight deck that made matters worse, chaotic service once airborne and a bus on arrival.
BA then added insult to injury by sending me that ridiculous delay email that apologises for the delay! On arrival at my hotel I find the crew checking in a head of me!!
I’d be careful booking with them for next 12 months, especially for long haul or anything important.

    • Andrew. says:

If I book a holiday to Orlando (probably economy) how do I know what the fare class will be before I book?

At the moment I’m looking at a Virgin, TUI and BA holiday which are all pricing up within a few £s of each other. I prefer Virgin, but this might tip the balance to BA.

    • ChrisBCN says:

It took off with ‘no cabin crew’ – impressive.

    • andy says:

It’s always a bus on arrival / departure at LIN / MXP on direct flights to / from the UK unfortunately – this has been the case across every airline I’ve taken in the last decade (BA, Alitalia, easyJet, Ryan Air and Wizz)

    • Lady London says:

Milan is always a bus as far as I know.

    • Abdul says:

      Stayed at the Hilton then?
Seems very popular with crew, AA & IB stay there too.

  • Colin Thames says:

The double tier point extension is brilliant news. Am surprised it’s not mentioned in your headline!

Presumably if a couple both travel on a flight+hotel or flight+car deal then both will get double tier points?

  • Jose Marques says:

Slightly of topic, is BA premium plus card fee waived first year or it incurs fees on fort year of sign up. Thanks

  • Stanley says:

Is the BA sale independent of the double tier point extension?? I booked a Xmas holiday on Monday, so missed the sale. I presume/hope that I will still get double TPs ?

  • Carl says:

I never got my double points the last time I booked a BA holiday with them. Not going to bother doing it a second tim.

  • ianM says:

Do you get Marriott status benefits at the Ritz-Carlton when booking through BA Holidays?

    • Craig says:

Nope, status recognition only when booked direct and not through “an.other” such as Booking.Com, BA Holidays et al.

  • Lou says:

My double points from ages ago have mysteriously appeared in my account (I never bothered chasing as they were all Europe economy flights), along with the extension of the offer and the 450 target for silver by the end of the year, suddenly I’m left in a funny position whether to chase or not! Originally I wasn’t going to bother, drop to bronze in July next year and then decide whether or not the perks were worth it
