Air France and KLM launch new business class flight sale – combines with £200 Amex cashback

Air France (via Paris) and KLM (via Amsterdam) have jointly launched a good UK sale.  Deals are available in all classes but I am just focusing on Business Class here.

Details are here on the KLM site and here on the Air France site.  You can book both airlines on both sites as they operate as one for marketing purposes.

Below is the headline pricing. Other destinations are also available.  This is from London Heathrow via Paris or Amsterdam, prices may vary from other regional airports.

Remember that there is currently an offer of £200 American Express cashback when you spend £1,200 on an Air France premium economy or business class seat.

Air France KLM sale

What is good about this sale, of course, is that KLM operates from most regional airports in the UK. Air France also has decent regional coverage, albeit not as good as KLM. This is an especially good offer for those outside the M25.

Whilst these prices are not as low as we saw pre-covid, they become competitive with the £200 of Amex cashback factored in. They are also, frankly, good value compared to recent inflated cash prices.

Deals include:

  • Nairobi £1,563
  • Accra £1,471
  • Tel Aviv £672
  • Cairo £1,061
  • Dubai £1,290

You need to book by 11th October.  Travel dates vary by destination but are shown on the Air France website.

Flights will credit to Flying Blue or any other SkyTeam loyalty programme or, of course Virgin Flying Club. You can see how many Virgin Flying Club tier points you will earn in this article.

If you don’t need to use a specific Amex to trigger the £200 cashback, your best option to maximise your miles when paying is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold.  This offers double points – 2 per £1 – when you book flight tickets directly with an airline.  This assumes you are paying in Sterling, as Amex has a 3% FX fee for non-£ payments. Our review of Amex Gold is here.

Take a look here on the KLM site or the Air France site. If you have the £200 Amex cashback offer, use the Air France site.

How to earn Flying Blue miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Flying Blue miles from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Air France and KLM do not have a UK Flying Blue credit card.  However, you can earn Flying Blue miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Flying Blue miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Flying Blue mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it.

    Thank you! Fantastic LHR-MLE prices.

  • Ruralite says:

KLM are totally unreliable at the moment with last minute cancellations & delays. The issues at Schipol with security etc are having a knock on effect even if you’re only transiting & I believe they have just announced another reduction in their flight capacity to try & alleviate some of the problems in which case prices will not reduce!

Can’t comment on the other destinations but Seoul is genuine.
I saw prices around that figure from several UK airports for summer 2023.

  • Morgan says:

As mentioned on another thread, I managed to get LHR-BOG (via CDG), return, in Business, for £1,717 in July 2023. Combined with the Amex offer, it was £1.5k, so worth playing around with the dates 👍
