Is it worth a 35,000 points punt?

This is what it says:

Hilton is asking 35,000 points for two tickets which, on our 0.33p valuation, is roughly £100-worth.

    The Metropole is surely the worst Hilton in London. Stayed there in the summer and will definitely not be doing so again.

        It could be that not all the rooms have been refurbed. Certainly, there is nothing wrong with the ones that have been done. Sure, it’s not going to win any prizes, but it’s significantly better than the Hilton Olympia, for instance. The Executive Lounge is not bad.

          Hilton Olympia is not much of a benchmark! Did a lot of £30 day rooms their during covid. Staff even sent me a Christmas card in 2020!

        I’m sure it’s 100% the case before refurbishment. It was the first and only Hilton hotel I’ve ever seen a cloakroom with a plastic box proactively asking for tips! Not even worth mentioning the poor attitude of their staff both at main Reception and Executive Lounge. Breakfast was ridiculously crowd as well (far worse than Doubletree Tower Bridge if you were there anytime recently) and no tendency for them to set up any dedicated area for Diamond Guests which many other London Hilton hotels do. Things may get better after COVID but unless hearing very positive reviews I will still avoid it at all cost.

      Stretching the definition of London a bit, but I’ll nominate Watford for that honour. The puzzling thing is that it’s the closest group hotel to Hilton’s EMEA headquarters. The Hilton in McLean by comparison is impeccable.

          Watford Hilton, (not in London) doubled up as the Linton travel Inn, and the entrance to Costco almost opposite is the site of Alan and Michael messing about with traffic Cones. I can confirm that there is an eat all you like buffet breakfast. Bring your own plate.

          Is there a Hilton at Southend? The Holiday Inn attached to the airport was very pleasant on the one occasion I stayed.

    I am in London anyway that week, so figured might as well roll the dice and find out. At 35k points, if its rubbish not really much lost and just leave early.

    Exactly and main thing is it doesn’t include a night at the Metropole. Made the mistake of staying earlier this year for 1 night, never again!
