  Not the first European JdV, I’ve already stayed at a few: There are the Story Hotels in Scandinavia as well as The Tribune in Rome. Of course, perhaps some time later this year, you can expect a huge influx of JdV’s in Europe (from Hyatt’s Lindner acquisition, most of those will be flagged as JdV).

      The press release states FirstName “marks the first hotel in *France* to join the JdV by Hyatt collection” (my highlighting).

      France =/= Europe. Stockholm and Rome are in Europe as well and have had JdV hotels for some time.

  Hyatt Prive is normally upgrade at the time of booking, which I think is far more valuable. Has that changed?

  While we’re talking offers I got an email from BA advertising a short haul flash sale this weekend. An example fare is Heathrow to Bologna £37 each way (although that’s averaged out over a return flight, I don’t know if the sale includes one ways).

    Sale appears to cover one ways – I looked as I have a points booking to TRN but they wanted almost £400 for my flight. Was £40 a day earlier

    I just booked flights to Luxembourg. You can get biz class on the way back for only an extra £32(!!!).. and you can knock £26 off the price for 3250 avios (I use the old nectar price as my base)

  I’m really curious to know what’s the average salary of someone spending E600/night on a city break hotel. I’m trying to figure out whether I’m just a stingy so and so, or we’re talking epic salaries

    I frankly don’t see the point. In a city break the majority of your time will be outside the hotel anyway

      Not if in the old IC Le Grand club lounge!
      Spent 2 days in there on Champagne. Foie Gras and smoked salmon. Think we went outside for a couple of hours!
