British Airways has quietly increased the tier points earned to Hong Kong

  Back in September flew wizzair to Ljubljana. Delayed for three hours initially, then diverted to Venice due to bad weather. Told there’d be a bus to take us to Ljubljana which never arrived before eventually being sent to a hotel, arriving around 1am (was meant to land in Slovenia at 3pm I initially).

  In the morning, still no sign of onward transportation I decided to stay in central Venice for a night then make my own way to Slovenia. The only thing wizzair eventually paid out on was the train from Trieste to Ljubljana, refused to pay for the first train from Venice to Trieste as they claimed there was a direct bus. They also refused to pay out for the taxi to central Venice.

    Seems simple to resolve, just go MCOL and you’ll get it all back plus the EU261.

  Based on the current £890.51 cash return fare, we’ve achieved 3.98p per Avios for our August flights LHR-DLM (booked 355 days out, no 2for1). A good result although we would never have paid that, we just wouldn’t have gone abroad this year!

  Wizz Air and Easyjet flights from LGW on the same dates are less than half the price but horrible flight times as others have said.

    I got 2.175p based on current prices, more than happy with that. We wouldn’t have paid extra to fly BA if there had been no availability, we would have flown with SunExpress or Pegasus.

  I booked twice with Wizz a few year’s ago. Both trips had the flight times changed so much that the journey became pointless. I was lucky in getting my money back reasonably quickly but i said I’d never use them again. Seems like I made the right choice

    Have had several trips with them which were fine.
    But then similar to you a move from a 12:45 departure to 05:55.
    Hopefully as things settle down post-Covid (they have not yet) this sort of action will become less common.

  Paid for WizzAir’s frequent flyers programme because the flights ended up being cheaper, then they cancelled them. It was a struggle to get a cash refund for the flights and they obviously never repaid the membership fee.

  I fly 60 to 90 times a year. I find Wizz is excellent.

    Me too. Flown with them more than any other airline over last 5 years (at least 80+ flights) and very rarely had an issue.
