Win One Million Virgin Points with Virgin Red and HfP

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

For just the second time in Head for Points history, we are giving away one million points to one lucky reader!

We have teamed up with Virgin Red to run an exclusive competition for HfP readers.

Virgin Red is Virgin’s Group-wide rewards club where you can earn and / or spend points across Virgin companies & other brands you love, including:

  • Virgin Atlantic
  • Virgin Voyages
  • Virgin Limited Edition
  • Virgin Experience Days
  • Virgin Hotels
  • Virgin Wines
  • The Virgin Red Room at the AO Arena, Manchester
  • John Lewis
  • M&S
  • SpaceNK
  • Bloom and Wild
  • Lego
  • …. and Greggs!

When you sign up to Virgin Red, you can earn and spend Virgin Points with Virgin Red’s partners. All of your Virgin Points sit in one place rather than being spread out across the separate companies.

It’s free to join Virgin Red and your points will never expire.

If you already have a Virgin Flying Club account, you can join Virgin Red and link the two accounts. Your existing points balance will show in your Virgin Red account.

What does one million Virgin Points get you?

With 1,000,000 points our lucky winner can call the shots and choose from hundreds of rewards on Virgin Red!

Some of the bigger rewards won’t empty your points balance. For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you have the opportunity to stay in unique retreats and luxury hotels around the world with Virgin Limited Edition.

Mont Rochelle

You could stay at Mont Rochelle, South Africa and enjoy the finest of wines in an idyllic setting, available for two from just 110,000 points for three nights. Wind down with a soothing dip in the outdoor pool or a trip to the spa for some TLC. For the more adventurous, take a hike or rent a bike and explore 100 acres of breath-taking scenery.

Other Virgin Limited Edition experiences include:

  • Kasbah Tamadot – a Moroccan retreat in the High Atlas Mountains, from 220,000 points for three nights based on two people sharing
  • Ulusaba – a luxury safari lodge in the private Sabi Sand game reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park, from 540,000 points for three nights based on two people sharing
  • Mahali Mzuri – an even wilder 12-tented safari camp in in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, from 540,000 points for three nights based on two people sharing

Wherever you’re going, you can use your Virgin Points to redeem flights on Virgin Atlantic or any of Virgin Atlantic’s new SkyTeam partners including Delta Air Lines, Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Vietnam Airlines and more. A long-haul redemption in Upper Class will cost you between 75,000 and 155,000 Virgin Points per person, return, plus taxes and charges.

If you’d rather redeem closer to home, you can spend your points on concert tickets for the Virgin Red Room at the AO Arena in Manchester, West End theatre tickets with London Theatre Direct, or any number of Virgin Experience Days experiences, such as a Top Gun flying experience in a real fighter jet.

You can also spend your Virgin Points on cases of wine with Virgin Wines or, if you’re feeling peckish, a Greggs sausage roll!

How to join Virgin Red

As we’re giving away Virgin Points, you’ll need a Virgin Red account to enter the competition and to redeem the points if you win.

If you are already a Virgin Atlantic Flying Club member, Virgin Red unlocks more ways to earn and spend points. All you need to do is join Virgin Red and link your existing Flying Club account. You will also be able to monitor your Virgin Points transactions via the Virgin Red app instead of having to log in to the Flying Club website.

If you are not a Virgin Atlantic Flying Club member, Virgin Red is still for you. You can join and access hundreds of ways to earn and spend with Virgin companies and beyond. Rewards start from just 200 Virgin Points so you don’t need to be a big spender or a big flyer to get yourself a treat.

Virgin Red is free to join and open to anyone in the UK or US aged 18+.

  • BJ says:

HfP on a roll with competitions this year 🙂

  • Simon says:

I got a weird message saying the promotion is ‘not available in my region’ – ironic given I was reading from the LHR revivals lounge(!)

  • Paul says:

When I attempted to enter, after providing my name, email address and DOB, I was told that I need to confirm that I was a real person and had to login with my social media account to verify this? I’ve not had to do this with previous competitions.

    • Rob says:

It’s an automated system – nothing we can do about that.

    • RussellH says:

      Same here.
Does everyone really have one of these so-called “social media” accounts?

Then I recalled that I have to have a gmail a/c for work (totally different e-mail address of course, so what does that prove), and that allowed me to enter.

I fully accept that HfP has no control over the way things get set up, but I would hope that in future HfP could make it a condition of the competition that “social media” is not allowed to have any connection.
Given the vast number of fake accounts out there, it seems a very poor way of verifying anything.

      • Rhys says:

This only happens when Gleam thinks your email looks suspicious. Unfortunately I don’t think we can whitelist emails.

        • Nick Burch says:

I have some of the social accounts, just not with the same email address as I use with Virgin. I suspect Gleam will get upset if I login with a social account where the email doesn’t match the one I gave on the form? And I know Virgin wouldn’t let me win if I don’t use the email that they have for me!

Could we be sent an email link to verify instead?

          • Peter K says:

I was logged in to my social media account, which I then logged out of and entered the comp using my Virgin Red email address.

          • StanTheMan says:

i clicked “verify with email and got sent a 6 digit code”

      • Rob says:

We can’t change it without switching the software platform – and no guarantee a different platform would work differently.

        • Paul says:

It worked fine when I entered with the same details from my laptop at home last night, whereas I was trying to enter from my phone yesterday morning

    • Sean Docherty says:

I get this quite often on here.

  • mradey says:

Apparently, I’m not human so my entry hasn’t been submitted.

  • Stuart says:

Given that this is a web site based around travel, it’s a bit odd that I can’t enter from my hotel in Geneva because “Sorry, this promotion is not available in your region”. And using a VPN I get a message saying I can’t use a VPN to enter!

  • No longer Entitled says:

Wasn’t the HfP Barclays offer a chance to win 1m avois x4? If so, this is the fifth time not the second.

  • JRD says:

That’s enough for, what, 5000 Greggs Sausage Rolls?

Give a man a sausage roll and he can eat for a day. Give a man 1 million Virgin Red points, and he can eat for over 13 years. Provided a daily diet of a sausage roll doesn’t clog the ol’ arteries.

  • Jay says:

It won’t accept my email address as I’m registered to Virgin Red with a ‘.me’ domain. Very weird.
