Earn 12.5 Avios per £1 at eBay on Wednesday

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

eBay is running another special promotion today with bonus Nectar points (=Avios) up for grabs.

Whilst this offer is less generous than others we’ve seen (the most recent was 30 Nectar points per £1), this deal is running for a full day and not just an hour. This will be a lot more convenient for many.

For all of Wednesday, you will earn 20 Nectar points per £1 spent at eBay. This converts to 12.5 Avios per £1. If you value an Avios at 1p, it’s a 12.5% rebate.

earn 20 nectar points per £1 at ebay

Here’s the small print:

  • you MUST register in advance (register here)
  • you only earn the bonus on the first £300 you spend. Your Nectar earning will be capped at (£300 x 20) 6,000 points which would convert into 3,750 Avios.
  • there is a £20 minimum spend
  • you only earn the bonus on ONE ITEM
  • only ‘Buy It Now’ items will qualify

If a seller is offering a bundle of items for a flat combined price – eg ’10 historic FA Cup Final programmes for £50′ then this still counts as ‘one item’.

The standard eBay rules on excluded categories apply. Full details of excluded categories are here but in summary, you won’t earn on:

  • Cars, Motorcycles and Vehicles (parts and accessories are NOT excluded)
  • Holidays & Travel
  • Property
  • Gift Vouchers & Coupons
  • Baby Feeding: Formula

‘Gift vouchers’ is a key one to note.

The registration link is on the eBay home page is here:

ebay Nectar bonus

If you don’t see it there, it may be on on this special eBay / Nectar page which is the same page you need if your Nectar and eBay accounts are not linked.

Note that you cannot add your Nectar number at check out – the accounts must be linked before you start.

When this promotion last ran, it only showed the base Nectar points at check-out although the bonus posted fine, at least for me. This was different to 2022 offers where you saw the full points due before you checked out, and gave you more confidence that the bonus would turn up.

If you have any BA travel for cash planned but not booked 12:00 would be a good time to jump into eBay and look for an E-voucher. 😎

    • FFoxSake says:

These poor souls have over £13k of e-vouchers for sale there, for a bargain £11.5K. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_ssn=paulandlorrainesmyth
Ouch if they get stuck with them and BA don’t refund!

      • memesweeper says:

I think it’s our duty as HfPers to mop up and reuse as many of these vouchers as possible 🙂

      • Londonsteve says:

They’d be well advised to add the option for ‘best offer’ to the listing so that people can make sensible offers. These are very high value vouchers and the vendors will realistically need to take a haircut on them if they’re going to shift them in time. There must be only a handful of ebay savvy potential customers out there who are happy to dump sums of this magnitude on a BA flight. Most potential pax flying in J or F and paying cash won’t be hunting for a discount voucher on ebay…

        • memesweeper says:

I’d agree — and as they get nearer the time they will be more distressed. Worth putting that on the listing and make a call on any incoming offer given how long there is to go.

    • buchanan101 says:

I have a couple of small evouchers that I won’t be able to use…

Is ebay really a good place to sell them; assumed non transferrable!

      620NOK and €127.83

  • Zark says:

Nothing on eBay yet for me.
Logged in to Nectar and eBayoffer shows:

Click ‘Activate now’ on the offer in the partner offer stream from 12am on Wednesday 19 April to activate.
Spend £20+ on 1 eligible item on 19th April only
Offer is only valid for 24hrs from 12am 19 April

Confusing as from 12AM for 24 hours is not ‘on 19 th April only’

    • AndyGWP says:

Click on the terms and conditions within Nectar, and there’s a link to activate the promotion that you can put in your browser

  • Somchai says:

Just an OT is anyone aware of a bonus with Amex Bonvoy for adding a Supp Card?

    • memesweeper says:

There’s never been one when I’ve done it.

    • tw33ty says:

Yes, there is usually a 3000 bonvoy points bonus for adding a supplementary card.

To see it, you usually have to go in to the Amex account on a pc / laptop, then scroll down to offers.

I done it already and it still pops up.

  • G says:

Just paid for something with Nectar points. Not sure if that will count but will be a nice 10% points rebate if so.

    • Crafty says:

Same, hoping these are not excluded…

      • G says:

I Checked My Ebay -> Nectar (right at the bottom) and the bonus points are showing under Points Activity so should be all good

  • LST says:

I don’t have this offer, had a (assuming targeted?) 20x points for one purchase on 19th April.

  • Andrew says:

I have just activated the promo on eBay and purchased something a couple of minutes after… the 10x points don’t show on the purchase page (just base only) but I assume they’ll get added at some point separately

    • JD says:

I just noticed the same as well. Only the base points appear on the page. Fingers crossed they will be added afterwards as Nectar Customer Support are the most useless people to deal with when it comes to missing points

      • EvilGazebo says:

My base and bonus points have already posted in the Nectar app.

  • Omegaman says:

    I can’t find the link anywhere ? Have I missed it ?

  • Gary says:

Anyone know if an accepted 2best offer” counts as buy it now?
