Best Western Rewards drops Avios, effective immediately

Back in March we ran an article on how to earn Avios when staying at Best Western hotels.

We said at the time that Best Western had disappeared from the Avios hotel partners page on ba.com but that it was still on the Best Western site as an option.

No longer.

Members whose accounts were set up to earn Avios instead of Best Western Rewards points were emailed yesterday to say that the partnership is over. Anyone who was set up to earn Avios will now earn Best Western Rewards points instead.

The chain does remain a Virgin Points partner. Details are on the Virgin Atlantic website here – you earn a flat 500 Virgin Points per stay.

You may want to go into your Best Western online account and change your preference from Best Western Rewards points (which is what you have now been opted into) to Virgin Points.

How to earn Avios from UK credit cards (April 2024)

As a reminder, there are various ways of earning Avios points from UK credit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses!
