I’ve used a business Amex for several years for (some) personal + (substantial) business spend — no issues thus far. I’ve paid it off with a mixture of different cards over the years, incl. commercial and personal pseudo-debit cards and actual personal debit cards. I’m fairly sure I’ve never paid directly from my company account nor with company debit card. All correctly accounted for in the DLA. I do not claim the card fee from the firm, too much personal use for me to be happy with arguing that with HMRC.
Ironically I used to do the exact opposite — ran a personal BA PP exclusively for work purposes, paid directly from business account, linked to company via the accounting software, fee claimed as a company cost. Amex may not have been happy had they realised but the accountant was fine about it.
I should probably change my behaviour given the horror stories posted here.
