Not wishing to hijack the thread, but as a slight deviation, are any of those mentioned above good for families?

We are in Singapore with two teenagers in August so really we (i.e. they) want a pool and a view. Lounges, bars, and even breakfast, are of limited if any amenity so it often feels like we pay top dollar for a second room with none of the benefits.
