Good morning and Merry Christmas to you all.

QQ – I’m renting a car in PA, USA tomorrow via a local Enterprise branch and paying using a reserved USD rate and pay on collection.

Before the likely upsell of all sorts of protection packages, do I decline on the basis I hold an Amex Plat with full hire car cover (as I suspect?). If so, do I also have to settle using the Amex Plat (approx $400) or can I put on a Fx-fee free card like my Halifax Clarity? I was keen on avoiding FX transaction / conversion fees but will swallow it if needsbe to get the insurance CDW etc.
