I’ve been wondering since yesterday, who are these companies who have tied agreements with BA? I ask anyone I meet who works/has worked at big companies about their travel policy (as it’d be a factor for me in deciding to take a job). The same answer every time – they have a crappy agent system that offers staff free choice across all airlines. Or in some cases, staff may opt to book direct and claim back. It’d be interesting to know of any known BA agreement companies.
My mid sized employer isn’t tied but does get a significant rebate from what I understand so they are listed as a “preferred carrier” in our tool and we must fly preferred when offered unless it is significantly cheaper to fly another carrier. Most of my London based colleagues do fly oneworld as we fly economy under 8hrs and most will qualify for silver under the new rules which is useful for Europe flying
Oneworld actually doesn’t suit my Asia centric travel plans as I usually book last minute and Qatar is often full or too expensive so I probably will not get silver but we shall see, equally a couple of long haul and it’s done easier than now
