Morning HFP,

I status matched BA to SAS EuroBonus Gold last year. I just had an email telling me I need to fly 5 times to stay Gold by 31 March.

On the website it says my current status expires September 2026 but my qualification period ends 30 June 2025.

I’m a bit confused by all these dates. My only worry is if I commit to this and make the 5 flights in the next 3 months, will I definitely retain Gold until Sep 2026? I’m sure I’m not the only one planning alternative status given the recent BA changes.

Cheers

I’m in the exact same position. I’d pretty much decided to book a 5 segment return flight next month for £200ish and get it done (especially since the BAEC news) but I read a post on FlyerTalk this morning questioning the point of this as the app/website already says we have EBG until September 2026 anyway and to not bother. I’m confused!

It would be good to know for sure. The exact wording in the email says: “ To stay on your EuroBonus Gold member status, all you need to do is fly 5 times with SAS before 31 March. If you do, your Gold status will remain until the end of your next qualification period.” My interpretation of that is you have to fly before 31 March to keep it. Poor communication from SAS to be honest.

Also just noticed hugog suggesting there is no lounge access for Gold at LHR which makes the status somewhat redundant if you intend to book work economy flights.
