Following the departure of HGI Snowdonia from Hilton group (today announced as IXORA Hotel & Spa under the ‘Interesting Hotels’ portfolio), I was shocked to find the HIX Crewe has quietly left IHG and rebranded as the ‘Belvilla Crewe City Centre Hotel – Lifestyle’!

It does make me realise how much hotel status influences where I go for work stays. As I’ll now not earn points, I look elsewhere immediately.

I will not miss the glass windows next to the front doors, which I once ran straight in to whilst flying down the stairs and out the door (or so I thought).
