@Bloxorus, I don’t think that journey is long enough to qualify for the 600 euro amount, but there’s nothing to stop you submitting a claim and seeing what the response is. You’d need to find out whether the airline is signed up to any arbitration scheme, and if not, it might be rather complicated to bring a claim in the EU.

Sorry should have specified my connection is on to RUH. The distance between ORY and RUH exceeds 4,000km so based on my understanding that means it is eligible for the maximum compensation.

As you suggest I will definitely submit the claim but in the past I have experienced airlines trying to dodge perfectly valid claims with excuses. So if possible I wanted to see what the official reason for the delay is rather than take their word for it.
