@PaulC, it’s just been announced that MAN has just closed the runway again due to heavy snow, though OH who has gone into his office in Stretford today says he doesn’t know what they’re talking about!

How much time do you have between flights? A few years ago BA eventually paid for a taxi to LHR (after trying to persuade us to come back 2 days later!), but you’d need at least 4/5 hours to get there, check in, etc.

However, there are plenty of DXB departures from LHR so they should find you an alternative. You could also try requesting to be moved to QR via DOH, once MAN re-opened, but BA might insist on you flying on their metal if they can find you suitable seats.

Above all, keep an eye on your booking, emails, texts, etc and be ready to take action as soon as you find out about any disruption. It’s much easier to negotiate other arrangements at the airport face to face with ground staff, so if you can, get yourself to the terminal.
