How much time do you have between flights? A few years ago BA eventually paid for a taxi to LHR (after trying to persuade us to come back 2 days later!), but you’d need at least 4/5 hours to get there, check in, etc.

However, there are plenty of DXB departures from LHR so they should find you an alternative. You could also try requesting to be moved to QR via DOH, once MAN re-opened, but BA might insist on you flying on their metal if they can find you suitable seats.

Above all, keep an eye on your booking, emails, texts, etc and be ready to take action as soon as you find out about any disruption. It’s much easier to negotiate other arrangements at the airport face to face with ground staff, so if you can, get yourself to the terminal.

Thanks NorthernLass. It’s our annual January trip to Dubai as we’ve discussed many times over the years. We have 2hrs 40mins connection time which doesn’t give us much hope when MAN has been closing for an hour or two at a time, Im watching Live stream of MAN now and it is thick fog too! I see there are plenty of alternative BA flights, we probably wont get sat next to each other thats if we all get on the same flight and is complicated as we are on 3 separate bookings. I guess we just hope its all clear by Saturday and as you say keep an eye on any contact from BA.
