This is why ideally you need ground staff to sort this in person, if the worst happens. My OH was on a cash ticket and my son and I were on a 241 when our 7 am MAN-LHR was cancelled at 4 am and when we explained that they were brilliant – they even flubbed my OH who had been on his own in old CW up till then so we could sit together on our GCM flight.

Have you checked availability on the other MAN and DXB flights over the weekend? If you have some alternatives to hand it’ll make it easier to negotiate if BA’s solution is inconvenient for you.

I have booked for DXB in late December this year and am already mulling over my contingency plans 😂
