@Aston100 – If you’ve made 2 separate bookings, the one you don’t cancel will be unaffected. I’ve cancelled a separate inbound leg and re-booked from a different city, it’s quite straightforward. The system “knows” you’ve had half the avios back, so you will the other half refunded, plus applicable cash portion.
Yes, you would be charged £140 for cancelling both legs – I strongly suspect BA would say that it’s a cancel and rebook scenario.
