But to answer your Question, hotel bookings don’t work the same as flight bookings,
Example, I have a trip in 6 weeks time, and have only booked the properties in the last week, I did some dummy booking 6,8,10 and 12 months out, at the same time, all off peak dates, and the prices were dearer than my booking 6 weeks ahead!

Yeah that was essentially my question, whether there’s a sweet spot for booking a hotel similar to flights.

I had a similar experience to you before Christmas booking a 1 night away about 4 weeks out, at that point the price kept dropping until I pulled the trigger, but I obviously don’t want to do that with something like a honeymoon booking!
