“April saw the launch of our refreshed loyalty programme, The British Airways Club. We changed how you earn and progress through the tiers, to give you more opportunities to unlock rewards.

As a valued member of the Club with a British Airways American Express® Premium Plus Card, we’re awarding you 500 extra tier points to say thank you for your continued loyalty. You don’t need to do anything, these points will appear in your account this month.

This is just one of the ways we’re awarding your loyalty. Thank you for choosing us – we’re excited to give you more reasons to do so.”

    Ooh, feel the loyalty…

Feeling slightly less valued than ExpatinBerlin, who reports on the daily chat thread that…

“On top of that, you can now earn up to 2,500 tier points when spending on your British Airways American Express® Premium Plus Card until 1 February 2026. Be sure to register by 25 January 2026. Terms apply.

There’ll be further opportunity to earn tier points using your Card starting in April 2026; helping you to unlock more benefits in your next tier point collection year.”

Perhaps I’ve been specially selected to not earn on the BAAX spend?

Yay! 2.5% of the way to gold.

*Should probably add, both OH and I have got these, he has a BAPP, I don’t.

I got that, despite no longer holding the Amex card!

Could the Amex / BA team possibly have read the comments on Rob’s article earlier this week when he told us that despite tier points earning having pretty much been said by BA to start at the launch of new year timing which was April 1st gone by,.. tier points on spend won’t take accoint of spend from April 1st according to new info Rob received.

Could the BA Amex team be throwing a bone to cover 3 months of lost earnings towards the max 2500 tier points ? If so then would be nearer 625 tier points not just the 500,time aince April 1st to now being 3/12ths of 1 year.

Howevr if the end date for collection is basically end of January 2026 (though they smoothed it by psychologically making it feel like another month of time to collect in by saying 1st February)….then this only gives 7 months to collect a max of 2500 tier points.

So is anyone that spends enough to get the remaining 2000 max tier points (since 500 has just been credited and totsl max earnable is 2500)… Are they then telling BA Amex that in a 12 month period they would be willing to spend almost 2x as much on their card in the future?

Apart from the weirdness of that end date anyway as it doesn’t match BA’s new year date of April 1st… and there’s almost an implication this is not a new annual continuing opportunitu to earn…what is the BA Amex team doing? Is their new strategy just to throw bones from time to time, enjoy the woofs of cardholders chasing them and then see how high dogs will jump for what level of incentive?

I posted this in response to a a similar post on the main article but it’s also an answer to @LadyLondon

I can see why there is a 1st Feb cut off – to give time for transactions to reach AMEX accounts and then for the sending over from AMEX to BA of the final points so they count in the BAC 25/26 collection.

Given people have different Amex membership years and statement dates I see it as a way to allocate the TPs to the BAC year they earned them in

Logged in this morning and the 500 nTPs have posted. Still not received an email about this, nor about the Amex “offer”. Thanks HfP are on the ball otherwise I’d have missed this. Feeling more unloved by BA.

    Me too!

None for me (non-BAPP holder) so still on 12 – all my travels have been on Avios this year.

Perhaps they are oiling the wheels to try and kickstart people chasing TP again. Won’t work for me since I’m still not committing to spending £7.5k “net” with BA to chase Silver – at least not until I’m mostly there.

In true BA IT style, Player2 with no BAPP (cancelled 2 months ago) got 500nTP, and I got none, even though I have a BAPP….
I did get am email saying they would give me 500 though, so maybe just slow.

    2500 plus 500 is 3000

BA’s website says “There’ll be a further opportunity to earn tier points using your Premium Plus Card starting in April 2026; helping you to unlock more Club benefits in your next tier point collection year.”

Regarding the 2,500 TPs offer from Amex, if you think you enrolled for this offer you should double-check. I enrolled last week, checked today and the offer was still available and not showing as saved to my card. I went through the process again and then checked with Amex who confirmed that I had not been enrolled. They have now processed it manually. It’s still not showing on my card as saved but I’ll check back later.
