Forums Payment cards American Express A headforpoints window appeared on Amex webpage, is it normal?

hi here, just now when I was browsing the Amex website for card introduction, a notification box appeared with the content like “Do not take up this Amex offer – its fake! … ” and links to headforpoints. I did a search then, there is indeed a page in this forum: https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/do-not-take-up-this-amex-offer-its-fake/

However, it wonders me why such headforpoints message will appear over the page of Amex site? Has my computer been compromised or it is some special feature utilised by headforpoints? Any hints? Thanks!

Would be nice revenue stream for hfp but aside from that it wouldn’t hurt to install free malwarebytes and do a full scan to get rid of any nasties.

Do you have some coupon/voucher browser extension that may have glitched out or has been updated to show things like this?

Yes I have run malwarebytes just days ago and keep its active monitoring on. It’s a pity I haven’t take a screen shot, that’s quite weird.

I have this suspicion already, because it does seem to be the most possible explanation. I have an HfP tab open at the time when that prompt appeared on Amex site. A browser extension might be able to grab the current page and do a context aware prompt? However I checked my browser extension but nothing suspicious.
