American Airlines – points, what to do before expiry Oct 1st

Hi, have residual 6500 AA points, expiring Oct 1, UK based flyer so rarely use AA.

Can they be transferred to a partner airline’s program? Or used for anything. Charity donation?

I think if you donate the minimum 1,000 points to a charity today that would probably post quickly enough to extend the rest of your points before the 1st.
