I imagine this is what purgatory looks like… similar to the waiting room of a doctor’s office…. ☹️☹️☹️

Not the black and white pics with the red telephone booth 💀💀💀

This place is a sick joke to all AVGeeks worldwide lol

Rhys was in there an hour ago.

“Really quite miserable” he messaged me, before heading off to BA.

Not sure if he’s still there or not.

I had the misfortune of the Admirals Club C Gates DCA yesterday. Not enough time to walk to either the Centurion or the refurbished E gates Admirals Club. It was the closest I’ve felt to stepping back into the 90s. Probably helped by the fact that the men who crowd the bar at American airport lounges any time of day never change from their uniform of synthetic ‘golfwear’ polo shirts tucked into beige chinos and worn over white trainers.

To be fair the A La Carte dining in the First bit is OK along with the champagne (Moet from memory) but I wouldn’t hang around for hours. Never set foot in the Business lounge though…..

I agree, the F dining is usually reliable and normal. I was desperately ill on board a long haul flight after eating at the Cathay F lounge. It’s always sullied that lounge for me ever since.

What I’d like to understand is why – given the widely reported dire state of this place combined with the crazy choice of lounges in T3 – was the OP even in there to start with… 🤷

Because if you only have an Admirals Club pass it’s the only lounge you can access if you don’t otherwise have lounge access based on status or travel class.

ACs are not the same standard as status access lounges which often comes as a surprise to people with status especilly at airports that don’t gave either flagship lounges or separate airline lounges.
