Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club BA reward flight value – Chrome extension

  • jamesellis 5 posts

As most people here are aware, BA offers multiple pricing options for their reward flights, and the cheapest / best deal is not always the first option.

To make this process easier, I have created a free Chrome extension which automatically appends the approximate value to each pricing option. See the image below for an example flight LHR – EDI.

You can find the extension here.

I usually do this on a spreadsheet, or a rough mental calc, so this is useful thanks

Thanks for this – a useful tool.

    If I was to nit-pick, I’d say it’s a cost calculator, not a value calculator 🙂

Yes, good point. In hindsight value doesn’t make much sense. I have updated the images on the Chrome store listing, and I can rename the extension. Any thoughts on a new name? “BA Reward Flight Cost Calculator” seems like a bit of a mouthful.

“BA Avios cost revealed” extension would get my vote.

BA Avios Cost Calc, or BA Avios Cost Revealed. Any chance this will be extended to Firefox in future? 🙂

Thanks for this. I just tried it, very clever and saves me scribbling the comparative costs on a scrap of paper!

Thank you both for your suggestions. I don’t have a firefox release planned, but if enough people request it there is no reason why not. In the short term, it is looking like the most pressing feature will be support for additional currencies.

This is great! Is there a Git repo I can submit pull requests to, @jamesellis?
