Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Can status be used to add checked luggage to a basic economy flight?

I know VS status can give you extra baggage allowance, but will it allow you to add one checked luggage to a basic economy ticket (which comes with zero baggage allowance)?

And would the extra luggage allowance be for just yourself, or everyone on your booking?

You get one extra bag. All benefits only apply to the status-holder and not to anybody else.

You haven’t mentioned whether it’s silver or gold, but you do get a checked bag at 23kg and seat selection seven days prior for you and all others on your booking if you are Silver. As @mrstrellis says the bag is just for you unless others in your party have status. Quite useful if you find a cheap light fare
