Car rental with Platinum Card

I’ve booked a car rental using my platinum business card, and using the £200 travel credit given. Does anyone know if I have to show the platinum card when I collect the car, or can I just show another credit card with my name on it (e.g. my Premium Plus Card)? I am planning to cancel my platinum card before my car rental is due to take place, so don’t intend to have the card anymore.

When I had the platinum card I was never asked to show it, and honestly in years of renting cars I’ve always provided a different one for the deposit on arrival and never been asked to show the card I prepaid on o reserved with.

This is exactly my experience with Enterprise, Avis and Hertz.
Hertz don’t even ask to see evidence of eligibility for the Amex Platinum rate.

I was asked to show the “Amex card used for the booking” when I collected my car at Avis. I was upgraded and that was it – no trying to sell insurance or any other issues some people have reported about.
