CC voucher expiry workaround

I was wondering if anyone had successfully tried a workaround for the cc voucher rule which states that you need to have taken the outbound flight before the expiry date? I’ve seen some people suggesting that you book a flight but then move it, but I don’t know if this actually works?

For context I am Red status and will be able to book the flights that we want before the expiry just not take them!
