Hello,
I’ve recently encountered issues trying to change my frequent flyer on bookings. I’d previously used Royal Jordanian and Royal Air Maroc to do this but those options seemed to have disappeared. It looked to be available on Sri Lankan but then wouldn’t save. Has anyone else experienced this or know of any workarounds? I have RJ Gold Sparrow so benefit from seat selection if it’s in at time of booking… but I’d rather get the BA points (even if they’re single digit these days)!
Thanks,
Dan
I have had success contacting them on twitter.
I usually wait until 7 days before to book the free seat using my RJ Oneworld Ruby status. Once the seat is booked, message them on twitter saying you need to change the FF number to your BA EC number. They’re sometimes slow but usually get it done.
There is still a self-serve route open being discussed on FlyerTalk. Think OW with an ornate tail. I’ve “successfully” used it to remove my BA number from my booking, to the point where MMB on BA offers me to associate a new FF number. However, the booking still shows in my BA booking, so I’m not sure how disassociated it actually is.
Well I never, just changed it and chose seats for a flight in March. Booking still shows in my BA account. Online chat changed one for me a few days ago and that still shows in my BA account. Wonder how long it will be until that gets closed down?

Indeed! Works fine for changing FF number on a cash booking but for anything involving an e-voucher it doesn’t appear to, giving a rather worrying alert that ‘this booking hasn’t been paid for’ 🙂

Until the curent airline de jour notices a spike in usage of this feature and the resulting bill increases from their GDS provider.
Changing FF numbers or selecting seats using one airline to amend anothers ticket might be free to passengers but isn’t to airlines.

That’s interesting. When do they look at these costs? Quarterly?
