Hi, I am going to Sanur on Tuesday from Ubud.
I originally booked the Hyatt Regency, but after much deliberation, and not too much difference in price, I opted for the more modern Andaz. Having spoke to a few people on holiday, the general consensus is that the Hyatt Regency is nice, but its certainly busier, and not quite as laid back as the Andaz. I will report back.

Definitely Sanur over Nusa Dua if you want to experience any local Balinese life.
Nusa Dua is basically an enclave of 4/5 star hotels on a sandy beach.

Sanur is lovely ( compared to Seminyak) . The beaches are not great in either destination IMHO. The big resort hotels ( again IMHO) are hideous . A private staffed villa is the way to go. We had a fantastic week in July in one . FWIW our Australian mates ( OH has spent the last 6 years working in Oz) won’t stay in Seminyak….or Bali actually …😳😳
