I can no longer make the Marriott Gourmet odyssey experience that was posted on here for 30k points, would anyone be interested? AFAIK you can have the name of the guests changed.
What would you like in return?
Just the face value (30k bonvoy points). It’s free to send points. Happy to share my email if you’re interested.
Unfortunately I don’t do Marriott points. Thanks anyway, I’m sure someone else will be interested.
Hello – Can I ask how you get the data, as not as simple using the likes of seatsky as before?
We have a spreadsheet with every seat, every flight, every date, every cabin on it (outbound only though). Email me if you want it.
How was the data obtained? I’d be interested in a couple of months time
Looking at the menu for my iberia flight to Bogota next week, it seems that they have johnnie walker blue label and another Scotch that retails for about £150 a bottle.
Which will be nice after having my fill of Spanish vino
WOW, thanks for this, we are staying in MAD overnight (just to be on the safe side, airport hotel only £60) before our J flight to BOG Christmas, I will look forward to sampling a glass or two! Any chance of a small report, as looking at a few things to do in Bogota before we fly to Cartagena for new year.
PS where are you staying in Bogota?
Yeah. Will definitely report back, I’m basically staying in a private room in an upmarket hostel. Not sure how HfP that is. Flying up to Santa Marta after three days in Bogota. No plans beyond that yet
Looking forward to your report, we are also staying in Santa marta but after a few days in Cartagena and Barranquilla.
Qantas’ new ultra-long haul seats
Looks good. I’m sure this route won’t be cheap though
Necter autoconvert bonus avios from October posted on Nov 4th (only just checked) in case anyone still waiting
Just posted the final part of the SA trip report but it’s gone into moderation due to the gallery links so look for it later or tomorrow depending how bored Rob is this evening. Hope folks enjoy it. Was an interesting exercise writing it as I’ve never been so wordy before, retirement is obviously good for me 😉

I have tickets for me and +1, but would offer it to friends if I could get two more. If you don’t have another taker let me know:

Looking forward to reading it Dave.

I can’t understand how their Perth-London route is competitive given the astronomical fares they charge.
People will simply pay more for a direct flight.
Many don’t want the inconvenience of intermediate stops etc
It’s why doing an ex-EU still isn’t all that common to most flyers despite the savings to be made – “the missus won’t stand it” or “we can’t put the kids through extra flights” or the “oh it just sounds complicated” set.
Having thought the Wineflyer emails have stopped, it’s seems like BA are continuing with them on ITV. Ahhhh, you can’t avoid these. They must have a load of wine to shift before Christmas

The benefits of the direct flight aren’t as great when flying to Perth than say to the USA. No matter what cabin I’m in, I think I’d prefer to be able to get up and walk about, eat a meal at a table, have a shower, than be stuck in a plane for 17 hours. The one stop options don’t even take that much longer (lots that are around 19 hours).

For a few hundred more, sure. But in J the prices are circa 50% more, so you’re in the thousands. I guess some businesses will value time much more than cash.
The Avios search for Sydney isn’t happy today, I select continue without stopovers and it errors out and asks me what day I want to continue after the stopover?
I’ve had that in the past I think – I got around it by selecting the day after the departure. You have to be make sure to to select the BA15 all the way as if you change flight number you pay more Avios.

I’m looking at doing the Ciudad Perdida hike, Cartegena and Medellin, but think I’ve only got time for 2 out of 3 and that depends on how much more I want to see of Bogota too

Apparently the route is successful with very good loads. Looks like people dislike connections more than very long flights.

Sounds like a great trip! We are also visiting Medellin for 6 days, staying in a luxury penthouse.
https://www.yorkluxurysuites.com/es makes a change from a normal main stream hotel.Tbh I have been so busy at work, I’ve left the itinerary really late, should finish it today though, then start on the Brazil trip in March, have a great trip, look forward to your trip report.

My comment disappeared yesterday. Apparently this route is successful with very good loads on every flight. Counter intuitive, but it is the reality.
Qantas wouldn’t be investing so much on project sunrise if this was a failure.

Yes but that’s you.
Other people look at this differently and are prepared to take the 17 hour flight. So much so they are prepared to pay well for it!
Posted it in the wrong day, please disregard
