Couple of F seats for Kuala Lumpur popped up around midnight for Tuesday 22nd July.
Spent nearly an hour on the phone with You First trying to get them to change my Club World seats from later in July to that date.
Much like a previous experience last year, it felt like they just make up the figures.
By my calculations, I was owed 1k Avios (changing from peak club to off-peak first) and an additional amount of almost £320 total in fees and of course the unavoidable £35pp change fees.
They came out with so much bollocks; at one point they wanted an additional 29k Avios per person, and additional £815.12pp in fees, plus the change fee and for some reason £15pp service fee despite having no ability to change the cabin and date through MMB.
After telling them to check again, they agreed to drop the service fee and charge 29k avios total, plus the £815.12pp fees.
By the end, they’d agreed to give me 1k Avios difference (correct IMO) but stuck to their demand for £815.12pp for the fees.

    What a waste of time.
But at least I didn’t have to ring US or Japan numbers and join a queue.

Those seats are still there at time of writing this.

EDIT: I see there is an upgrade option on my actual date of travel. £799pp to move up to First.
EDIT2: And when I try that option, it gives me an error message “Unable to upgrade flights – No Fare Quote found, try other pricing option”

    BA being BA.

Current consensus on which Al Mourjan is best currently? Two stopovers in the coming weeks, 2.5hrs each.

I found the garden to be quieter, especially the end away from the eating area.
