@Richie, thank you! Will check them out, very handy for the ABBA Arena 🕺 😃
I’ve got a 5% cashback offer for British Airways on my free curve card.
Max cashback £30.
Expires 18 Dec.
BTW Jet2 is launching flights from LTN starting 3rd April 25.
@Richie, thank you! Will check them out, very handy for the ABBA Arena 🕺 😃
There’s also Hyatt House suites and apartments at Stratford.
I hope @Gordon ‘s wife and granddaughters’ trip goes as smoothly.
@MGW – Thank you, unfortunately I cannot be with them, due to work commitments, which is frustrating, I am glad things worked out well in the end for you, safe flights. Thanks @Gordon. I’m currently enjoying the Pinot Noir in the rather nice Qantas lounge while watching the traffic in the rain. A lot of China Eastern.
@MGW – Have one for me!All was well in the end, seated together, just landed in CDG. It’s a BA holiday with transfers etc. So all good.
Got a 15% off flight offer from BA today. In the T&Cs, it’s 15% off after tax and charges, so not just base fare. Could be a decent saving for next summer holiday. It’s my birthday this weekend, is this a birthday offer? Dont remember getting this last year, or year before.
Just received SMS from Barclaycard in respect my Avios Plus Card:
We’ve had an issue adding your Avios to your British Airways Executive Club account in November – we’re very sorry. We’ve now fixed the problem and we’ll add November’s at the same time as your December Avios. Thanks for your patience. Your Barclaycard team.
Hi all.
Has anyone experience booking Quatar flights using AVIOS.
It says on their site “Save up to 50% when you pay using Cash + Avios”. The cost of a one way from KUL to LHR is 75000 plus aprox £200 taxes in Business Class.
What I am asking is, is the normal cost 150000 plus taxes resulting in a 50% discounted 75000 AVIOS, or has the 50% discount not yet been applied and it should now be 37500?
Or does “Save up to 50% when you pay using Cash + Avios” mean something else?I might be wrong but that sounds like it refers to using avios to reduce the cost of a cash ticket, not a discount on an award fare.

So you think it does not mean save at all. It just means use AVIOS to offset the cash price?

Try a dummy run.
It means using Avios to reduce the cash price. So you ‘save’ up to 50% cash by using a wad of Avios.

@Gordon, earlier response seems not to have got through. Great news re your wife and granddaughters’ trip. By my count between the lounge and the plane you had a few glasses of Pinot Noir 😊It means using Avios to reduce the cash price. So you ‘save’ up to 50% cash by using a wad of Avios.
Thanks. I thought itmight mean that. Using the words Save up to 50% costs us loads of AVIOS points, so may not be an actual saving. And it is not a time limited thing, so no rush to make the booking.
Not teaching you to suck eggs, but make sure you know the difference between booking an award flight with avios and using avios to reduce the price of a cash flight! The latter is rarely good value.
If you want award seats you’re limited by how many QR has released and how quickly they’re taken by other people.

Don’t worry about sucking eggs! Sometimes I miss the obvious. I was hoping that this was a sale where the number of AVIOS required was educed by 50%. No such luck though. Not this time. Maybe Black Friday will result in some sales fromsome of the airlines?????
