does she have a BAPP? I’ve noticed OH getting TPs via his, even though he didn’t sign up for them when it started.

She’s had a BAPP in the past, but not for about two years (I have our BAPP now), so definitely no TPs via AMEX. I also checked her BA app and I could see 230 tier points subtracted for year reset, so definitely short of the 300.

Happened to my OH also, who had 250 points or so. Got an email to say bronze has been extended, no explanation either.

Curiously, it doesn’t seem like my wife received any email at all about getting/extending Bronze, but maybe she deleted it as it would have been a few months ago.

BTW Nectar Count up to Christmas has launched.

When I log in via a web browser, it shows the Christmas offer and says log in to the app to activate.

When I log in to the app it ain’t there. Brilliant!

@Go197 I dont remember if its here or other sites, a lot of mentions of suspended QR accounts due to Award Wallet. It seems it mimics fraud attempts so overzealous QR systems flag it and duly act.

App update sorted it thanks. I was only logging in to disable Avios auto-convert after it kicked in on Monday to qualify for the latest bonus 🙂

Plutus announced yesterday they’ve partnered with Miles & More, you apparently will be able to redeem Plutus cashback tokens for miles. Unclear at what rate yet. Supposed to be ready by January, but would be very not surprised if they take much longer to built it.
But if someone needs M&M miles next year, might make sense to sign up now because it takes time to earn cashback before it becomes convertible… Also it’s tax season soon and HMRC payments (personal tax) are explicitly allowed to generate cashback: https://www.plutus.it/help/how-to-earn-plu-rewards

Yes, it seems that Award Wallet is a major issue for QR accounts. Multiple reports in this FT thread.

I should have learned my lesson when Award Wallet got my Accor account locked last year.

From that FT thread I fear i am going to have a frustrating time trying to regain access.

Meanwhile I cannot manage my flights. Worst case I stand to lose around 300k Avios.

@Go197 You will not be losing nothing. It’ll just be slow to get them back.

For me this is split into five batches of Collect 600pts, get an extra 400pts. At present I’ve got 650 bonus points listed for my usual offers, not sure if they count or it’s base points only. I’ll find out tomorrow when I do a wee shop.

@ross I frequent Bahrain twice a year so know the airport well.

That should be fine, Bahrain airport is probably the fastest airport you will ever visit. The only thing that can sometimes take time is the luggage carousel lottery but they are usually out quite quick. Assuming all goes as it usually does you should be able to get to immigration, collect bags, check in and be through security in around 30 mins. Locals brag about how quick their airport is and I have never actually had to queue for security or immigration, its usually straight through.

The BA flight does land at the furthest gate from immigration though, so while the airport isnt huge you may want to factor that in.

Many thanks for this, it is super helpful!

    ADVICE PLEASE 🙂
Arrive Bahrain at 00:05 on BA0125

I need to get to Muscat.
    There’s a Gulf Air flight at 01:45

I am guessing that’s not enough time, as I will need to collect bags, and check back through?

    Thanks

With bags, no way would I do that. Your cutoff is when bag drop closes rather than departure time, if it’s -1h you basically have 40 mins. Everything – arrival on time, quick immigration, quick delivery of bags and no other hassle or hold-ups – would need to go well to make that.

That’s a very fair point. Thanks

    Which?

Wow – it seems Which? maybe taking a leaf out of BA’s “enhancement” rule book
Just received an email telling me that based on member feedback, the publication has been reduced from 12 a year to 11 a year (a combined Dec/Jan mag). It’s an “upgrade” for the Dec mag, apparently!

And they said in such a language that I had to read it twice to see what they meant and why.

Seem BA On Business Points expiry has been extended from December 2024 to June 2025.
Hopefully the email I received to say this was itself not an error!
Has anyone else received such email to confirm points are further extended into 2025?

I received the same email stating June 2025 for expiry

Flying LHR-SYD on BA15 next week. Last time we did this route we were prevented from buying duty free at LHR due to the stop in SIN. When we arrived in SIN we couldn’t buy duty free due to the short stop (arrival was late) as it appears you need minimum of 90 minutes from purchasing for it to get to your flight.

Has anyone successfully bought duty free at LHR and got it through the Security at the Singapore gate to reboard the flight to SYD, assume it should be in one of the sealed duty free bags?

Another lying weaselling email today received from Central Tickets lying about and trying to minimise their letting customer data be hacked.

If I ever used them must be at least 5 years ago. And yet they say “it was only a test system they had on a separate server” that was hacked. And “only 4:customer dsta sets were accessed and yet 3 of them contain only anonymised data”. Miraculously my data, from over 5 years ago, being in the 4th data set that was not anonymised ie was miraculously, not protected by them.

Give me a break you lying weaselling Central Tickets.

Oh, and the email from them is dated yesterday and yet only just appeared in my inbox where I’ve been all day looking at it frequently. So clearly they’ve a massive batch of people whose data they’ve leaked to send to… as it’s taken nearly 24hrs for their sending to get down the list to me.

@TedL, is there a particular issue with SIN? Usually it’s fine to transit with duty free as long as it’s in the tamper-proof bag.

But, do you have the option to order it in advance and have it delivered on board?

@LadyLondon The Central Tkts situation is concerning probably resulting in more junk e mail and daft calls.

The duty free allowance SIN to SYD in terms of tobacco is a single cigarette… The duty free shop at SIN advised me of this just prior to me attempting to buy on the way out. No idea about alcohol.
