Credit limit too low to hit 5k spend?

Has anyone else here been have trouble with getting a higher credit limit? COT won’t raise it at this moment (“only after a few months and review”).
I’m at 1k and that just limits the ability to hit that 5k with higher spends like flight tickets etc.
