All,
Just wondering if this is a known issue.
Looking to use the HEL-NRT for an award booking earlish next year.
When I look at it on FinnAir, there shows availabilty on the dates for all classes
WHen I look at the same dates on BA, there is no availability on outbound, and only economy on the return. It states that there is no Premium economy on the route, even though this class shows
Before I trouble the call centre – is this a known issue, and can they resolve it over the phone or is there different availability for rewards bookings for those that have FinnairPlus v Avios?
This is not an “issue”.
Not all reward seats are available across all websites.
This is why you may need to transfer avios to Iberia (and Finnair in the future) to book with them directly.
Have you looked at HND? I find that there are more seats available than to NRT.
Thanks both!
Unfortunately it a March(cherry blossom) redemption, so not much availability.
Basically do I gamble and booked the suboptimal BA route now, then book with Finn Air direct if/when we can move Avios across.
I looked at it when the announcement was made on the FinnAir site, but just assumed they would show up later on BA surfaces.

I don’t know the answer to this question, but beginning to wonder if I should register an account with Finnair now or when they officially change to Avios.
Living in Scotland, I’ve been interested in booking reward flights to Asia via Helsinki, but the EDI-HEL route isn’t ordinarily available on the BA website, so booking Finnair reward flights has been awkward/difficult. In moving to Avios, this could make Finnair a more viable and attractive option than before, but not sure if they will restrict conversions to those with established accounts initially (e.g., I think there are restrictions like this for IB-BA exchanges). At the same time, I’m also wondering if they might offer some sort of promotion to those opening accounts (e.g., didn’t Qatar do something when they switched to Avios?)…
Thanks both!

Next year (2024) during cherry blossom you are way too late for anything in business even with BA. Maybe some economy/premium left from the regions if using 241 voucher. Finnair won’t be releasing any further than their 2 guaranteed seats in business for that period. You need to look at different routes via Singapore/Hong Kong or Doha.
Oh agreed.
BA was long gone. There was actually availability on FinnAir, but to the point above, that must be for FinnAir Plus only.
