As Bluechain is no longer viable with Amex, has anyone used this one https://getapron.com ?
Amex business manager mentioned it on a call.
I’m an accountant and we use this for invoice capture for bookkeeping. Whilst it would work I think they charge close to 3% for each payment and the benefit is close to 1% in Amex MR points. So I didn’t think it was worth it. Would be happy if someone could prove me wrong.
Would also be interested to hear of anyone’s experience using Apron. I’ve just signed up and may try a payment on my next payment run.

It’s potentially worth it for those who have large Amex bonuses upon a certain spend. But what I can’t work out is whether you can use Amex to pay HMRC via Getapron.
I’ve just paid a bill with Apron, no real issues. Quite a basic setup but 2.9% fee for Amex. Payment initiated on Monday, a query from them the following morning which was answered and sorted quickly. Company got the money yesterday.
I can’t seem to find a way of downloading a copy of the convenience fee apart from a basic print screen for my records, bluechain does generate a receipt at least.
It’s a month free trial, seems ok but not sure how viable at 2.9%. Hopefully Bluechain comes back online…
