Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Hilton Wembley – ‘Virtual Executive Lounge’

  • 416 posts

Taking my daughter to watch the Lionesses at Wembley. Booked into Hilton Wembley. Main attraction it’s very close proximity to the stadium. Another benefit is it has an Executive Lounge (though no idea if it’s any good).

Anyway, just received a text saying that on the night we’re staying they will be operating a ‘Virtual Executive Lounge’. Presumably because the Executive Lounge / possibly floor is being given up to one of the teams (even the Lionesses themselves…).

Could be a plus. However, I suspect the ‘virtual’ experience is nothing like the lounge. I’m assuming this is pretty standard practice when events are on (though not a hint on the website). Does anyone have any experience?

I also assume I’m not the only one on this forum impacted by this…

I suspect its nothing different to what hotels do if lounge close at weekends or are being refurbished. You’ll get a couple of drinks vouchers at check-in and a few plates ot tapas will be sat on a table in the bar for a couple of hours ….

Hardly a Virtual Executive Lounge than. Executive Lounge gives unlimited drinks, unlimited teas/coffees, usually very poor food and very mediocre snacks / fruit. I guess drinks vouchers are also limited to the very basics?

Each voucher is for ‘one serving of House beverage – choices are Pint Beer, Glass of House White or Red or Single Measure House Spirit (Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whisky) with mixer’ (sic) according to the ones I was handed this morning. Valid in Sky Bar or Icons Bar. 3 vouchers per person (6 total).

So, drinks were fine tbh, though the ‘pint beer’ option only referred to Stella not any of the alternatives which was a little restrictive. Free soft drinks / coffee on demand – just ask at the bar. The espresso from the Sky Bar was actually pretty good. No snacks anywhere though, which was a let down. All in all a pretty decent hotel
