Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

    Hi all,

We have a household account but I am currently the only one collecting, my hubby has just received his Amex bapc and I want to set the app on his phone, does he have to register as a new account? I have his baec membership number on the household account.
Will any points he receives automatically show in my account as I’m the household account manager?

Your husband will need his own Amex account for the Amex app and yes he will be a new Amex account for the app assuming this is his first Amex.

For BA, you will see your points as your points and the your points + your husband’s points in the total for your household account.

Either you or your husband may spend that total.

Thanks @Frogee I want to set up the ba app on his phone, do I have to register him or does he log in under my account ie the household account?
Also do I have to register the Amex card on the ba account?

He needs to log into his BAEC account not yours then link his new Amex to his BAEC account for his points to reach his BAEC and thus the HHA.

You don’t link his Amex points to your individual BAEC account.

Do you mean the Amex BAPP? The application form asks for your BAEC account number – did he fill it in then? If so it should already be linked to his account.

The household account merely serves to allow you to combine the Avios from a number of individual accounts.

Nobody logs into a household account. You all log into your individual accounts.

As the head of the household account you control the admin such as who is allowed in.

Be very careful of Cousin Vinny. He’s a wrong ‘un.
